Mary Sue Hopper began work in optics in 1978. Her first job was as store clerk for Pearle Vision Centre in her hometown of Peru, Illinois, USA. Since that time she worked as a Manager for with Goldblatt’s Optical in Chicago, Illinois USA; graduated from RJ Sergeant Reynolds (Richmond, VA) Dispensing Optics Course in 1984; was contact lens technician at Sports Arena Eye Care, San Diego, California, USA; and in 1999 received her New Zealand qualification by completing the Optical Dispensing Practical Exam, New South Wales, Australia. In New Zealand Mary Sue was co owner of a busy optometry practice in Hamilton. Sales grew exponentially in just three years. Her passion for seeing others succeed is the reason Hopper Consultants was formed. Using the same principles employed in her own business, she helps New Zealand companies, and independent practice owners achieve their vision. Mary Sue writes a semi-regular column in NZ Optics. Some of you may know her as the presenter of the Eye Pro Optical Starters Course. From 2004-2007 Mary Sue served as President of the Association of Dispensing Opticians of New Zealand (ADONZ). She is currently serving her fourth term as a volunteer member of the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board Continuing Professional Development Committee. |

Colin R Hopper is uniquely qualified in operating systems technology, and was appointed a Windows XP Pro Associate Expert by Microsoft USA. He was also a CTP Beta Tester for Widows 7 and Windows Vista (32 and 64 bit versions). Waikato Times Colin is able to quickly diagnose issues that appear from operating system and or software conflicts. Colin tested for Microsoft USA, Microsoft Win 98SE, Win ME, Win 2000,Win XP, Pro (32 and 64 bit versions), Windows Vista, Windows 7, various service packs, Microsoft Update Sites, many Microsoft security products (One Care and Defender) and a variety of other Microsoft Products. He has also tested many third party security products (Norton’s 360 and Norton’s Internet Security 2010) both virus, firewall, and spyware products. As a CTP tester he has tested: Windows 7, "Longhorn" Server, Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2, One Care 1.5 Beta's for Microsoft USA, and a diverse range of other related products. Colin’s love of fine audio sound since he was a child and through life, developed a passion for finding the best audio equipment to deliver clear and sweet sound at the best price.
